Flumergex debuted as a studio project recorded on the side by guitarist/songwriter Smith. He brought his friends Hoke an Rigby in to the studio to each perform on one of the songs.

Jesse and Jon had been jamming since 1999; and Andy and Jesse had been jamming since 2003; so it only made sense that the three of them should start making music together.

So they kept playing some of the songs from the CD, and wrote some new songs, and pulled out some old ones, and now they are just about ready to Flumergex all over funky P-town in 2009.

They don't pretend that Flumergex is their livelihood. But it's fun. And if you ever have the opportunity to be there when they perform, you are guaranteed to have fun too.

While the album features layers of distorted electric guitars and crazy synthesizers, the live band presently consists of Jon on his Ashiko hand drum; Andy playing piano or, on the really fun days, his accordion; and Jesse on acoustic guitar and vocals. We always have a great time and we never fail to deliver a wildly energetic performance.

Performances are often announced at the last minute; typically only a few devoted fans ever learn of these events until afterwards.
